Manchester Attack: Everything We Know So Far

May 22, 2017 – Police have named 23- year old Salman Abedi, a British born man responsible for setting off multiple bombs in the Manchester Arena Monday night after an Ariana Grande Concert. ISIS has claimed responsibility for this horrendous act that ended with 59 casualties, 12 of which are children under 12 years of age.

Ariana Grande was not injured but in the hours following the attack she released a tweet saying “broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry, i don’t have words.” (5/22/17 7:51 pm)

So far we know that there have been 22 confirmed dead of the 59 causalities. Currently there have been reports of children and teens still missing after the event. Three victims have been named of the 22 dead:

  • 18 year-old Georgina Callander
  • 8 year-old  Saffie-Rose Roussos
  • 26 year-old John Atkinson

The man responsible for the bombs was also killed in the first explosion.

As of right now Ariana Grande has put the rest of her Dangerous Woman Tour Europe on hold with her being emotionally shook from the events that have taken place. Her next concert was to take place May 25 in London. The continuation of the tour is currently being debated.
