Leroy Greene is having its first annual Academic Decathlon on Tuesday December 14th. An academic decathlon is a fierce competition between teachers and students. In an academic decathalon, student teams take on teacher teams in subjects such as economics, language, literature, music, science, art, mathematics, and social science .
According to www.usad.org The history of the academic decathlon dates back to 1968. It started in Bolsa Grande, California. It has grown in popularity because it displays the tactics of teamwork and competition combined to deliver success to every student. The teams must consist up to four to five people. The teams will be fifty fifty split. The requirements to enter are: you must be a freshmen, you must sign up before the 7th, and the 6th is the last day to sign up.
